Aspergers Syndrome.

Otherwise known as mild autism, aspergers syndrome is a condition which isolates the child or adult from the world as we
know it. The condition is characterised by lack of empathy, inappropriate social behaviour, poor ability to form friendships,
literal thinking and language, one-sided interaction, enhanced ability to memorize and recall facts and intense absorption in
certain subjects.

Aspergers syndrome is sometimes described as an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) which means that people can be
affected by it to different degrees, some very severely and others in much more subtle ways. People with aspergers
syndrome require specialist care, support and education to help develop social skills, form relationships and
understand basic everyday activities.

We believe it is essential to promote personal development by providing opportunities exposing individuals to a range
of experiences and providing support and encouragement to help maximise their quality of life.
